Soccer Game Preview: College Park vs. The Woodlands

College Park is 0-10 against The Woodlands since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The College Park Cavaliers will welcome The Woodlands Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

The Woodlands will be up against a hot College Park team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. College Park never let Caney Creek get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Friday. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Panthers are ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, The Woodlands had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.6 goals) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over the Indians. The Highlanders' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven games.

The Woodlands pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven matchups. As for College Park, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
