Basketball Recap: Somerset Sky Pointe Comes Up Short at Home Against Spring Valley

Somerset Sky Pointe unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 81-62 to the Spring Valley Grizzlies.

Azea Melo-Powell was nothing short of spectacular for Spring Valley: he went 12-for-20 en route to 34 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Melo-Powell a new career-high. Nasir Greene was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five boards and three steals.

Looking ahead, Somerset Sky Pointe will be taking part in a tournament against Silverado at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spring Valley, they have already played their next game, a 66-48 win against Western on the 3rd.
