Basketball Recap: Bayfield's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Bayfield needed a changed in momentum after dropping ten straight games and they got it from Stella Gordon. The Bayfield Trollers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mercer Tigers 40-38 thanks in part to Gordon, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 22 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bayfield's points.

Bayfield's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 2-11. As for Mercer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bayfield will venture away from home to square off against Birchwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mercer, they will head out to take on Johnston at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
