Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Northeast Guilford walked away with it. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-22 win over the Dixon Bulldogs. The Rams' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

JaQuez Crawford was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 265 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 36 yards and one score. Those 36 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijiah Jones, who gained 211 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northeast Guilford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Dixon still got an impressive performance from JJ Gulat, who rushed for 223 yards and three touchdowns. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Gulat posted at least 103 rushing yards in the 18th games prior.

The victory (which was Northeast Guilford's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for Dixon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Northeast Guilford will look to defend their home field on Friday against Rocky Mount at 7:00 p.m. Dixon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
