Softball Recap: Branham Has No Trouble Against Leigh

Branham won the last time they faced Leigh and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bruins blew past the Longhorns 7-1.

Jacque Connolly - Hojas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, CC Bonnard was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Ellie Bliss was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Branham's record now sits at 10-11. As for Leigh, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13-1 record this season.

Branham will head out on the road to take on King's Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Leigh, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Leland at 4:00 p.m.
