Basketball Recap: Douglas Byrd Comes Up Short

Douglas Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gray's Creek Bears. Sadly, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-28 back in January.

Douglas Byrd now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Gray's Creek, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Douglas Byrd will venture away from home to face off against Cape Fear at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gray's Creek, they will host Purnell Swett at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gray's Creek is facing Purnell Swett at the right time seeing as Purnell Swett is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
