York had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Dreher Blue Devils as they made off with a 9-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 last Tuesday.

Layla Clayton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Natalie Dover, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Marisa Reyes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Dover wasn't the only one making solid contact: York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive matches.

York's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Dreher, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

York will take on East Rutherford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dreher, they will face off against Airport at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
