Baseball Recap: Rancho Alamitos Has No Trouble Against Western

Rancho Alamitos won the last time they faced Western and things went their way on Friday too. The Vaqueros blew past the Pioneers 10-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vaqueros.

Matthew Arguelles made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Rancho Alamitos' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-1 (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Arguelles was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Carson Lamb was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. He has become a key player for Rancho Alamitos: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Henry Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Rancho Alamitos' record now sits at 10-11. As for Western, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-21.

Rancho Alamitos does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western, they will square off against Whitney at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Pioneers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
