Basketball Game Preview: Grant Union Prospectors vs. Irrigon Knights

The Grant Union Prospectors will head out to challenge the Irrigon Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Grant Union is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Last Tuesday, Grant Union made easy work of Powder Valley and carried off a 64-44 win. The Prospectors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after only 30 points in their last game, Irrigon made sure to put some points up on the board against Pilot Rock on Tuesday. Irrigon narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Pilot Rock 63-60.

Irrigon now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Grant Union, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Grant Union took their victory against Irrigon when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 76-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grant Union since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
