Preview: Beloit Trojans vs. Riley County Falcons
The Beloit Trojans will be home for the holidays to greet the Riley County Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Beloit will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Beloit has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 29 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Phillipsburg 58-29 at home. Given Beloit's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Phillipsburg is ranked 161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Noah Gerstner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with five assists and three steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Bryce Beisner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight blocks and seven rebounds.
Riley County can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with a 52-40 win over Rock Creek.
Beloit's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Riley County, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Beloit took their win against Riley County when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 53-28. Does Beloit have another victory up their sleeve, or will Riley County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
