Preview: Nogales Nobles vs. Notre Dame Titans

The Nogales Nobles will square off against the Notre Dame Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Nogales walked away with it. They managed a 53-48 victory over the Golden Eagles on Wednesday. 53 seems to be a good number for Nogales as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 87-45 win over Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-15.

Notre Dame relied on the efforts of Yirmeyah Michel, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 7 assists, and Caiden Broughton, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sheeck Morris, who scored 11 points along with two steals.

Nogales pushed their record up to 16-13 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Notre Dame, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Nogales strolled past Notre Dame when the teams last played back in December of 2014 by a score of 62-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nogales since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
