Basketball Game Preview: Ralston Rams vs. McCook Bison

After both having extra time off, the Ralston Rams and the McCook Bison will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday. Ralston is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Ralston is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Concordia last Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ralston took a blow against Concordia, falling 67-26. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ralston's loss came about despite a quality game from Lamar Rucker, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, McCook unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Saturday. The matchup between them and Holdrege didn't end well, with McCook falling 90-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Bison still had to take the loss.

Ralston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for McCook, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Ralston came up short against McCook in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 61-57. Can Ralston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
