Quite possibly the tallest high school basketball prospect in the country, 7-foot-4 Matt Van Komen of Pleasant Grove (Utah) gave a verbal commitment to Utah on Monday morning.

Van Komen announced his decision via Twitter:
As a junior, Van Komen averaged 16.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as Pleasant Grove recorded 21 wins and reached the Class 6A state championship game.

247Sports pegs Van Komen as a Top 250 prospect. Baylor and Gonzaga were among and handful of other programs that offered the Beehive State big man.
