Basketball Recap: Poynette Comes Up Short

Poynette was the 59-52 winner over Deerfield when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Poynette Pumas took a 79-64 bruising from the Deerfield Demons on Monday. The Pumas just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Poynette's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Deerfield, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Poynette will challenge Pardeeville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Deerfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Ambrose Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Deerfield is facing St. Ambrose Academy at the right time seeing as St. Ambrose Academy is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
