While Eagle Pass' win against Cornerstone Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Eagle Pass' pitcher stepped up to hand Cornerstone Christian a 2-0 shutout on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Eagle Pass' win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Michelle Torralba, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Torralba has posted since back in February. Alessa Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Laredo LBJ fell victim to Medina Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Eagle Pass' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Laredo LBJ, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
