Basketball Game Preview: Webster Tigers vs. Ellsworth Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Webster Tigers take on the Ellsworth Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday... Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Webster was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 81-80 to Bayfield. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Ellsworth posted their biggest victory since December 8, 2023 on Saturday. They blew past Pepin/Alma 84-47. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Ellsworth is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Webster, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
