 Granite Bay waltzed into their contest  on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They beat the Franklin Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game:  11-9. Granite Bay's win was all the more impressive since Franklin was averaging only 3.36 runs allowed on the season.
  Peter Caldera looked comfortable as he  tossed 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits (he also only allowed one  walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Ben Straw was  excellent,  going 2-for-5 with two  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI.  Jimmy Radler was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-5.
 On Franklin's side,  Jordan Lopez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in four of his six plate appearances with a  home run, three  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Dylan Minnatee, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-6.
 Granite Bay's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Franklin,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 7-4.
 Granite Bay is on the road again  on Wednesday to play Serra at 7:00  p.m. The pair have allowed few  runs on average, (Serra: 1.5, Granite Bay: 3.3) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Franklin, they will square off against Palo Alto at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The last three games Franklin has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
