Volleyball Recap: Greater Lowell Tech's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Greater Lowell Tech proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Andover Golden Warriors 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Gryphons, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Greater Lowell Tech wouldn't go down easily and took Andover into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-13, 25-15, 22-25, 15-11.

Among those leading the charge was LaDainian Loeung, who had four digs and four aces. Those four aces gave him a new career-high.

Loeung wasn't the only good server: Greater Lowell Tech was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 14 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Greater Lowell Tech's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Andover, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Greater Lowell Tech will take on Acton-Boxborough at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Andover, they are taking a road trip to face off against St. John's Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
