            Baseball Recap: Calhoun Academy Cougars vs. West Memphis Christian Black Knights        
        
		
        
        
            Calhoun Academy proved they can win big  last Tuesday (they won by ten) and  on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the West Memphis Christian Black Knights  6-5. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered  a  17-5  defeat the last time these two teams met.

 Caiden Farmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned  (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in April of 2024.
 On the hitting side, Calhoun Academy's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Bronnor Bingham, who  went 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.  Jake Allen also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
The  win  got Calhoun Academy back to even at 3-3. As for West Memphis Christian, they now  have a losing record of 2-3.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun Academy will face off against Tunica Academy at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for West Memphis Christian, they are taking a road trip to  take on Potts Camp  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
