Recap: University Phoenix vs. Millburn Millers
The University Phoenix's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They took a 76-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Millburn. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Millburn is ranked 59th).
It was another big night for Noah Ravitz, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds for Millburn. Ravitz also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Zach Benmorits, who scored 18 points along with five assists.
University has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Millburn, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-6.
University does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Millburn, they will head out on the road to take on Fair Lawn at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Millburn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Thursday.
