Basketball Recap: Broken Bow Takes a Loss

Broken Bow lost to St. Patrick back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians fell 61-52 to the Irish. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Irish 21-13 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Broken Bow lost, don't look at Dominic Nowak. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-11 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Drew Ellis also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Ben Heirigs produced another solid effort shooting 65% from the field en route to 34 points and six assists for St. Patrick's. The contest was Heirigs' 11th in a row with at least 16 points. Peyton Kramer was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 14 boards.

Broken Bow has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for St. Patrick's, their record now sits at 6-7.

Broken Bow wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-60 victory against Wood River on the 16th. As for St. Patrick's, they have also already played their next contest, a 53-50 win against Overton on the 16th.
