Basketball Recap: Carmel Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Carmel ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against the Columbus North Bull Dogs by a score of 59-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Greyhounds also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2020.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carmel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evan Harrell, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Julian Vogt, who posted 11 points.

Several Bull Dogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Perry, who put up 18 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Perry is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Ferguson, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 18 points and six boards.

Carmel pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Columbus North, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carmel will host Pike at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Greyhounds will need to watch out since the Red Devils have now posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Columbus North, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Perry Meridian at 7:30 p.m.
