Basketball Game Preview: Carver Panthers vs. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors

The Carver Panthers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, Carver beat Hapeville Charter 57-50.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask KIPP Atlanta Collegiate). They really took it to Washington for the full four quarters, racking up a 96-67 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Carver better focus on containing Akil Robinson and Chane Bynum as the pair were huge in KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's win. Robinson went 12 of 21 on his way to 31 points and three steals, while Bynum dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 boards. Bynum is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Jayvon Johnson was another key player, going 5 for 8 en route to 12 points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Carver, their win bumped their record up to 4-13.

Carver was taken down by KIPP Atlanta Collegiate 72-36 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Carver avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
