Softball Recap: Bald Eagle Area Comes Up Short

Bald Eagle Area was the 9-1 winner over Williamsport when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 7-4 to the Millionaires on Saturday.

Sydney Thompson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Eckert, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Bald Eagle Area's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Williamsport, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Bald Eagle Area will head out on the road to challenge Central Cambria at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season. As for Williamsport, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tunkhannock at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Millionaires' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
