The Venice Gondoliers will head out to take on the University Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Venice is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Venice's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over Westchester. The result was nothing new for the Gondoliers, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Westchester from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Billy Quinn led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, University hasn't lost a match since November 21, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. They and Los Angeles CES finished up their match with a 2-2 draw. While a more conclusive result would've been nice, the Wildcats got plenty of practice considering the match was the highest-scoring draw the team's played all season.

Venice has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. University's draw makes their record 2-1-4 this season.

Venice beat University 3-1 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Venice since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
