Baseball Recap: Westfall's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Westfall walked away with it. They came out on top against the Logan Elm Braves by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 back in April.

Westfall got a great performance from Noah Stonerock as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brenden Tuttle, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Rick Hanley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Westfall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Westfall's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-10. As for Logan Elm, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-18.

Coming up, Westfall will take on Unioto at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Shermans will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. Logan Elm does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
