Baseball Game Preview: Aledo Bearcats vs. Fossil Ridge Panthers

For the second straight game, Aledo will face off against Fossil Ridge. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Aledo Bearcats challenge Fossil Ridge Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Aledo's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Fossil Ridge has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Aledo is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Fossil Ridge get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Luke Sandefur looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lucas Nawrocki, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Trager, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Aledo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Aledo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fossil Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16-2.
