Soccer Game Preview: Emerald Ridge vs. Spanaway Lake

The Emerald Ridge Jaguars will head out on the road to square off against the Spanaway Lake Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Emerald Ridge will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.

Emerald Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Yelm with a sharp 6-0 victory on Tuesday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Emerald Ridge's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Yelm are ranked 255th).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Spanaway Lake's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Olympia.

Emerald Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those five contests. As for Spanaway Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
