Volleyball Recap: Cannon Falls Comes Up Short

Cannon Falls was the 2-1 winner over Belle Plaine when they last played one another back in September of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Bombers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Saturday.

Claire Meyers paced Cannon Falls' offense, picking up 11 kills. Meyers got some help from LIbby Sampson and her 23 assists. Meyers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Cannon Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Belle Plaine, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cannon Falls will venture away from home to take on Stewartville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belle Plaine, they will face off against Glencoe-Silver Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
