Basketball Recap: Utica Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Utica, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 62-56 win over the KIPP Columbus Jaguars on Tuesday.

Hunter Mckinney was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024. Hayden Quinif was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Utica is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-16 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points over those games. KIPP Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Utica didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-21 defeat against Africentric Early College on the 22nd. As for KIPP Columbus, they have also already played their next match, a 59-54 loss against Bloom-Carroll on the 22nd.
