Basketball Recap: Mullen Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Mullen extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Lutheran. They walked away with a 36-26 victory over the Lutheran Lions. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Lions are ranked 55th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mullen is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points over those games. Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.

Looking ahead, Mullen will face off against Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Windsor sitting on 15 straight wins and Mullen on three. Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
