Softball Recap: Riverdale Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

After losing to Morrison the last time they met, Riverdale decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rams walked away with a 7-2 win over the Mustangs on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

The team relied heavily on Claire Beeler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Amaya Lopez-Hernandez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Riverdale's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for Morrison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Riverdale and Morrison should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Rams will challenge Newman Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (27 vs. 192). Meanwhile, Morrison (ranked 57th) will meet West Carroll (ranked 306th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
