Basketball Game Preview: Flathead Braves/Bravettes vs. Sentinel Spartans

Flathead hasn't had much luck against Sentinel recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Flathead Braves/Bravettes will face off against the Sentinel Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Flathead is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.

Flathead is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-49 heartbreaker at the hands of Glacier.

Flathead might have lost, but man, Lyric Ersland was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 35 points and 13 rebounds. Ersland's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Korbin Eaton was another key player, putting up four points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Sentinel fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Hellgate on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 57-55. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost eight in a row.

Sentinel now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Flathead, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Flathead and Sentinel were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but Flathead came up empty-handed after a 59-58 loss. Can Flathead avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
