Basketball Recap: Tranquillity Takes a Loss

If Tranquillity was feeling good fresh off their 61-30 takedown of Alpaugh last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tranquillity Tigers were dealt an 86-32 loss at the hands of the McLane Highlanders on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1246th, while the Highlanders are ranked 494th).

Tranquillity has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for McLane, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Tranquillity won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sanger West at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Sanger West knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Tranquillity likes a good challenge. As for McLane, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against East Bakersfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
