Football Recap: Stephen Edwards Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northeast Academy

Community Christian won the last time they faced Northeast Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Cyclones strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 48-30. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but the Cyclones were the (much) better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Stephen Edwards, who rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 83 receiving yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards Edwards has posted since back in August of 2024. Bailey Bunn also helped with two TDs in total.

Community Christian's record is now 2-0.

Coming up, Community Christian will head out on the road to face off against Berean Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northeast Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
