Skyridge is on a four-game streak of home losses, and American Fork a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Skyridge Falcons will welcome the American Fork Cavemen at 3:30 p.m. Skyridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Skyridge is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since March 21, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Weber 6-5. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Peyton Hall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Ford, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Skyridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, American Fork didn't have quite enough to beat Cedar on Friday and fell 4-2.
Mazie Walters spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, American Fork saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Jensen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
American Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Skyridge, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
American Fork's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Skyridge has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for American Fork, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given Skyridge's sizable advantage in that area, the Cavemen will need to find a way to close that gap.
Skyridge was able to grind out a solid victory over American Fork in their previous matchup on April 10th, winning 5-2. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavemen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
