Softball Recap: Turlock Bulldogs vs. Benicia Panthers
Turlock saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Benicia Panthers by a score of 6-5. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Turlock got a good showing from Maycie Higgins, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Higgins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Abby Maxwell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Pires, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.
Even though they lost, Turlock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Turlock's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Benicia, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Looking ahead, Turlock is taking a road trip to square off against Gregori at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give Gregori their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Benicia, they will welcome Amador Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
