Football Recap: Mt. Zion Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mt. Zion and Early County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mt. Zion had to settle for second. They took a 13-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats.

Knox Israel threw for 48 yards on three of eight attempts. Xavier Buckner was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards. On the ground, Khazyia Ackey rushed for 41 yards.

Mt. Zion dropped their record down to 8-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Early County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Mt. Zion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Early County, they will face off against Screven County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gamecocks' defense has only allowed 7.9 points per game this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
