The St. Teresa Bulldogs will face off against the Althoff Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

St. Teresa is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Friday. They blew past Urbana, posting a 40-8 victory at home. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Caiden Kernaghan had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 32 yards and two touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. Teresa was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 417 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Urbana only gained 180.

Meanwhile, Althoff Catholic had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their match on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 41-14 victory over Alton. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Dierre Hill Jr went supernova for Althoff Catholic, rushing for 97 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while also catching a touchdown. Jayden Ellington was another key player, throwing for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes.

Althoff Catholic's defense stepped up as well, laying out Riley Smith. eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Jason Dowell and Baron Vaughn who racked up four sacks between them. Vaughn also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making ten total tackles.

St. Teresa took a serious blow against Althoff Catholic in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, falling 46-13. Thankfully for St. Teresa, Aj Strong (who rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also picked up 54 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
