Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Trinity Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Frisco on Saturday. The Lions managed a 62-58 victory over the Raccoons. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Raccoons are ranked 312th).

Jet Naegele continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10-for-20 on his way to 29 points and six boards. Those 29 points gave him a new career-high. John Cooper was another key player, shooting 60% from the field en route to 12 points.

The win made it two in a row for Trinity Christian and bumps their season record up to 13-4. As for Frisco, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Trinity Christian will head out to face off against Grapevine Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grapevine Faith Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Frisco, they will be home for the holidays to greet Reedy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raccoons will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
