Baseball Recap: Easthampton/Hampshire Drops Highest Score of Season Against Amherst-Pelham Regional

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Easthampton/Hampshire). They blew past the Amherst-Pelham Regional Hurricanes 17-6 on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Hunter Montalvo-Greene made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Easthampton/Hampshire is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-11 otherwise. Montalvo-Greene was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Christian Do'onfrio, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Patrick Larson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Easthampton/Hampshire always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Easthampton/Hampshire's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Amherst-Pelham Regional, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
