University put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Petersburg Vikings get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Hawks have won three games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Maddie Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Sophia Lehosit was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Whitney Cox, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

University's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Petersburg, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, University will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Preston at 5:00 p.m. As for Petersburg, they will head out on the road to challenge Tucker County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Petersburg's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
