Volleyball Recap: Start Gets the Win

Start proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Anthony Wayne Generals, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Generals two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Start was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (107-103), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 16-25, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Kaden Baker paced Start's offense, picking up 22 kills. Baker got some help from Jaden Brunt and his 21 assists. Baker was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

The victory got Start back to even at 7-7. As for Anthony Wayne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Start has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Adrian on the 23rd. Anthony Wayne has also already played their next match (against Perrysburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
