            Baseball Recap: Fairview Knights vs. Monarch Coyotes        
        
		
        
        
            There's no place like home for Fairview, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Monday. They came out on top against the Monarch Coyotes by a score of  11-6  on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shut out in their previous   game.
 Liam Goetz looked comfortable as he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive appearances.

 At the plate, Fairview got a  massive  performance out of  Jackson Wier, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Wier is becoming a predictor of the Knights' success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).  Isaac Waymire was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.
 Fairview  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Fairview's victory was  their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 5-5. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Monarch,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-7.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview will head out to  face off against Holy Family  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.5  runs per game this season. As for Monarch, they will square off against Frederick at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
