Cannon won the last time they faced Charlotte Country Day School and things went their way on Friday too. The Cannon Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers 76-47. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cannon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jakaila Gaskin, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. What's more, Gaskin also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Khloe Thompson, who went 9 of 17 en route to 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Cannon was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Charlotte Country Day School only racked up seven assists.

When it comes to explaining why Charlotte Country Day School lost, don't look at Olive Bigham. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Bigham's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Sam Vanderhave was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Cannon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Charlotte Country Day School, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7.

Cannon has already played their next contest (against Charlotte Latin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Charlotte Country Day School is taking a road trip to take on Providence Day at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
