Despite the loss, Texas Wind saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jai Johnson posted ten points in addition to six boards and five steals. That was a full 37% of Texas Wind's points, marking the sixth time in a row Johnson has earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Rosie Mendoza, who scored six points.

Stephenville FAITH's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Texas Wind, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
