Softball Recap: Buchanan Falls Short of Clovis North in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Buchanan couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clovis North Broncos on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-3 loss on May 9th.

Buchanan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addy Schafer, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The defeat snapped Buchanan's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 23-10 record. As for Clovis North, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-5-2.

Buchanan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clovis North, they will venture away from home to challenge Whitney at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Broncos 2.6, the Wildcats 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
