Baseball Recap: Mountain Pointe's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Mountain Pointe took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Quartz Hill, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Mountain Pointe had just enough and edged out Quartz Hill 2-1 on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Pride as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Ivan Lopez looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mountain Pointe's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Mann, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Mountain Pointe's record now sits at 3-9. As for Quartz Hill, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Mountain Pointe will venture away from home to face off against Campo Verde at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quartz Hill, they will take on Westview at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
