Softball Recap: Greece Athena Comes Up Short at Home Against Spencerport

Greece Athena unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 12-1 to the Spencerport Rangers on Thursday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rangers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

The victory (which was Spencerport's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Greece Athena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spencerport, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gates Chili at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.67 runs per game on average), something the Rangers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
