Hewlett won the last time they faced Friends Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Quakers with a sharp 14-2 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won 12 games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Coralia Savin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Hewlett got a massive performance out of Liliana Simon, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Simon is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games she's played. Alyssa Reich was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Hewlett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.
Hewlett pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.3 runs over those games. As for Friends Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Looking ahead, Hewlett will face off against Hempstead at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Friends Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
